    Small city about 250,000 people, very cold in the winter, beautiful in the summer.
    I would love to go to Ireland, my family name (Fleming) is Irish.

    Well we get a lot of reality tv so that's why I'm on the board.

    It's a common enough surname here in N.Ireland.Not everyone is Mc or O'.

    York, PA---

    1) The first Capital of the U.S....Articles of Confederation were signed here.

    2) Home of York Barbell, weightlifting weights.

    3) Harley-Davidson has an factory here

    4) Pfaltzgraff Pottery is made here and has been for more than 150 years.

    5) Home of the "Hex Trial" of the late 1920's...local pow wower was killed because some local PA Dutch men thought he had put a hex on them so they ended up killing him in their attempt to capture his Black Book.

    6) The group "Live" is from York.

    7) During the Civil War, York surrendered to those Confederates who were in the vicinity of Gettysburg (30 miles west).

    8) Dentsply International is headquartered in York. (artificial/false teeth)

    9) During WWII, Rabbi Alexander Goode, who had previously served the Ohev Shalom congregation in York, died on the Dorchester when it sank in the N Atlantic. He was one of the 4 Chaplains who died giving up his life jackets to sailors.

    10) We used to manufacture the York Peppermint Patty, but a candy company from Reading bought it, so it's no longer made here.

    My hometown, Dandridge, is a small city in east TN, however, we're very historic.

    We're the 2nd oldest town in TN

    During the Civil War, a battle was fought here.


    I live about 45 mins away from where country singer, Kenny Chesney, was raised.. My grandmother lives about 5 mins away from it.

    I'm about 15 mins away from Knoxville, the Hometown of Survivor 2's winner, Tina Wesson.

    DollyWood isn't far from here.. I don't know how many of you have heard of Dollywood though.
