The realization that it was just a dream helped, but it still worried me that it might happen for real. It never did. I felt glad & grateful that it was just a dream.
I was done & never went back or slipped, but the dreams kept popping up when I'd least expect

I've talked with other ex-smokers & this is common. Maybe it's our fears popping up where we can't control them.

I had several smokers' dreams and I felt guilty too ... in the dream but none lately

BUT ... I also sort of felt as if I could smoke in my dream ... I was assuaging the addiction without suffering the effects, ... and stinking!

    I need another goal.

I finally passed that One Year of smoke free living on August 24 and now I need something to reach for. I think I will start counting in Months again until I think of something better. So heading for Lucky 13 Months on September 24.

    How is everyone else doing?

WOW. That is fantastic captain! Do you ever set an urge after all this time?

I am still stunned that it's been over a year!

To be honest, I still have the urge to smoke. I think at times I can have just one, but know that if I ever do, I will be smoking again.
Congratulations on the 1 year mark.

Good going famita! I guess the urge continues ... but isn't it wonderful to win against it?

    Re: Quitting Smoking

As a non-smoker and psychologist I find the "smokers' dreams" thing really fascinating. I agree, echo, maybe it does give you a little of the zing of smoking without the downside! Kind of like sex with movie stars in your dreams!

Keep up the good work y'all.
