I agree that times have changed. I am starting to feel old.
Although when I was in high school the cliques were:
Preps
Band Geeks
Brains/Nerds
Gang Bangers
Farmers
Rah-Rahs / Jocks
Stoners
Surfers
Cowboys
Nerds
We called the girls with big hairsprayed hair and sleazy ways Tunas.
I was in band and our uniform included those old-fashioned foot-tall fuzzy round hats, so we were called Band Twinkies. For some reason that bled over into the drama club, as they were called Drama Twinkies.
Stoners, jocks, & surfers too. This is fifteen years out of date, needalife! I have no idea what the kids are into these days.

I went to an arts high school, so our cliques were slightly different. Instead of jocks, cheerleaders, etc., we had...
- the jazz guys, who thought they were better than everyone else
- the dancers, who also thought they were better than everyone else
- the overacheivers, who were in student government all four years (I had friends like that)
- and there were nerds.
Lets see...I graduated 15 years ago
We had:
Populars - including cheerleaders, rockettes, etc
Jocks
Stoners - we called ourselves the Zoo Crew after the Scorpions song.
Wavers
Geeks - the kids who got heavy into D&D...it was not a popular game at my school.
Everyone else didn't really have a category...we didn't have nerds. I hung out with the stoners although I didn't smoke or do drugs. They were just the kids that didn't care if you were rich, smart, skinny, etc.

I was a band geek and proud of it. In 1989 we were the US national champions and indoor percussion champions. Our band was huge and were the only thing the school had going for it. You know it's wierd when all of us in the drumline were dating cheerleaders and the Homecoming Queen. They would even show up to the competitions in their outfits. Those poor jocks...never knew what hit 'em.

I went to a private school with many international people, so there were many many different cliques:
- The Indo Group (indonesians)
- Americans (Americans ) *duh* haha..
- Locals (Singaporeans)
- Japs (Japanese)
- K's (Koreans)
- Beijings (Chinese)
- Jocks (sports peeps)
- Bimbo (bimbo club)
- Wannabes (people who try to hard to be something their not)
- Poseurs (they got the image, but dont have the atitude AT ALL)
- Smart-asses (intellects)
- slackers (people who come to school, yet still skip class)
I was in the Jap group, all jap people, we were kinda the "cool kids" haha.... yeahh.... my school had more jap's/koreans then caucasians and locals so we kind of dominated the school cliques!![]()
it's school of course there is rankings...i for one was lucky to be in one of the "cool" groups

Masashi, my school has just about the same groupies as yours. Wonder what school you went to.
