Ionic Breeze

So, our Ionic Breeze just arrived, straight from the Sharper Image collection. We've fallen victim to another infomercial, apparently.

Now that it's here, I've done some basic research on ionizers, and found that they're basically "crap" compared to HEPA filtration.

Does anyone have one, and are you willing to let me know what you think of it?

well, we don't have one, but my husband has thought about getting one so many times. I will be interested to see what others say.

Have you unpacked yours? Is it quite? Did you get the "mini" one too?

Yes, we've unpacked it. It's very quiet, even on "high", and we got the mini one, too.

I'll let you know how we like it, but we'll probably be returning it and getting a HEPA filtration system instead.

I've never tried the Ionic Breeze, but I have a HEPA system and think it works great

What are these things? Air purifiers?

I'm so out of the loop on infomercials.

Yep, it's an ionizer, which shoots out negatively charged ions. They attach to molecules in the air containing dust or what-have-you, and eventually, when enough pile on, the molecule drops to the floor, where you can vacuum it up.

Yeah, HEPAs are the way to go for clean air! The ionization things are supposed to improve your "well-being" somehow, which, I admit...they seem to. I haven't a clue how.

Some of the HEPAs have an ionizer function--I used to have one and it was very nice.

Dammit another reason to vacuum! Sheesh I'd want one of those Rumba automatic floor vacuums then too.
