| Re: The Oasis - A spot for FORT parents ![]() I'm not a parent, but I agree with DR, SM, and MRD above. Who knows? Coach's son may have known exactly who you are and made that comment within earshot purposely -- maybe to get a reaction, maybe just to be an a$$. Don't give him the satisfaction of a reaction, especially if it would likely negatively affect your son. But do feel free to go ahead and make a voodoo doll of coach's demon spawn and stick it repeatedly with big ol' hat pins! ![]()

I am working on this as we speak. ![]() Thanks everybody for the calming advice. I'm glad I came here first to vent before firing off an angry e-mail to the coach. Nothing good would have come of that and my son would have been beyond embarassed that I did that.

| Re: The Oasis - A spot for FORT parents That's a great shot. It actually kinda looks like she booted the other girl in the rear and sent her flying through the air. How did her team do at provincials? What age group is that, btw?

| Re: The Oasis - A spot for FORT parents This is U12. They were expected to win but they didn't end up doing so well. Record was 2-1 and they ended up 7th. My baby got a yellow card and she was so in shock she started crying and was leaving the field! Poor thing had no clue what to do. Another girl got a yellow and to this day no one knows why. This game was against Lethbridge and the reffing was so bad they (Lethbridge coaches) told our coach to file a complaint. No matter though, the girls had a good time. She is now in the midst of trying out for U14 but she is in tough for a spot so all she can do is try her best and hope for the best. Cross you fingers for her AJane!! |

| Re: The Oasis - A spot for FORT parents Ok, I'm officially the meanest mom on the planet! ![]() My son wanted to go to the movies today. We spoke about it last night and I said if he got the vacuuming done I'd let my husband take him to meet some friends to see a movie. When I got up this morning the vacuuming had not been done and I asked him, why didn't you do it? He claims to have forgotten. I said, you were sitting at the computer when I arrived home last night...... (he'd had 3 hours to vacuum a very tiny space) and I said, no movies. He stormed off to his room and said I was the meanest person ever! He says that he has done nothing fun during his week off from school..........like that's my fault. I said, if you did your chores without me having to ask, I would have no problem allowing you to do all the fun things you wanted to do. He just slammed his door and is now asleep...... oh well. If that makes me the meanest mom, I guess having Rock Band, PS2, PSP, Ninetendo and 3 computers counts for nothing!! Haha...

| Re: The Oasis - A spot for FORT parents Hmmmm, That was always my title. I guess now that my kids are grown I have to pass the title on to some other deserving mother though. ![]() Don't let him use that guilt trip on you. Good moms say no often. That's what makes them good moms. And the best part is that they see that when they grow up. Sometimes that seems like it will never happen, but believe me it does. I'm not sure there's a limit on how much you can spoil your grand kids though. I haven't reached mine yet, that's for sure. |

| Re: The Oasis - A spot for FORT parents Grandkids are meant to be spoiled! I have to leave for a hair appt in an hour and I'm going to wake him up and ask him nicely to ensure his chores are done before I get home. I am sure he feels no need to do the chores but I can still take away the fun things he has right now... (evil laugh)... I know I'm a good mom, it just makes me giggle for him to think I'm the meanest mom!
