| Re: The Oasis - A spot for FORT parents I didn't see this, but I wish that I had . . . My ex-wife's son (6 years old) loves magic. He has a couple of magic kits, and his Dad and I have both taught him a couple of tricks, too. He was at a City Council meeting (my ex is the Zoning Administrator of the small town in which she lives) and while the Council was in executive session, my ex was chatting with the City Clerk. D walked up and announced that he knew a magic trick. He said his magic words, he did his magic finger wiggle, and then reached down and pulled his underwear out of his pants. According to my ex, the City Clerk laughed so hard that she almost choked ![]() disclaimer--I did NOT teach him that! He apparently figured that trick out for himself!

| Re: The Oasis - A spot for FORT parents So my son has money from his father's side of the family that is burning a hole in his pocket. He has gone back and forth on what he wants to buy. I realize it's his money but he hasn't done his chores consistently for over a week. He has only done them for 2 days half-a** because he wants me to take him to spend his money. Now that I've told him nope, sorry, you don't get rewarded for doing things for a couple of days just to get what you want he's moping around the house now. Arghh teenagers really bring my anxiety out big time! I'm hiding in my room so I don't have to see the looks he gives me like a lost dog or something! ![]()

| Re: The Oasis - A spot for FORT parents If anyone has an opinion on this, I'd really love to hear it because I'm at a loss as to what to do. My son is a high school junior and finally made the varsity soccer team this year after spending two years on the JV team. Admittedly, soccer is not his first love (baseball is) and he knows that there are others on the team that are much more talented than he is but he worked incredibly hard to earn this spot on the team and was thrilled when he was chosen. They had their first night game tonight (a very big deal around here) and while he didn't start, he played the last 15 minutes of the game. He played well and while they lost, I was proud of the way he played. While I was watching the game, I heard someone behind me say "he never should have put "my son" in". I turned around to see who had said it and it was the coach's son who used to be on the team until he graduated last year. I gave him looks to kill and he quickly and wisely moved to the other side of the field. This kid is an extremely immature 18 yr old who only made the soccer team because his dad was the coach and he dares talk like that about my kid?? I'm sorry, I'm so upset about this. I so want to e-mail the coach about what his son said but I don't want my son to be punished because of it.

| Re: The Oasis - A spot for FORT parents Bunny - I think you need to just consider the source and let it go. He's a rude, egotistic kid and nothing you say or do to him or his father will change that. Sad but true. Just be proud of your son and the game he played. |
