Radio Contests

I just won a radio contest! This is my first time ever winning, and I am one of those people who call and call and call and call and never get anything but a busy signal. But this time I finally won! I won a CD pack that includes the new Kylie Minogue and the Soundtrack to Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, and a chance to win a trip to New York to "party with the Fab Five" and see a performance by Kylie. They say Elton John may even be there. That would be awesome! I can't tell you how thrilled I am to finally win something after all these years trying!! :yay

So any FORTers radio contest winners? What did you win? Did it take a lot of trying?

Our radio contests suck. We can win a free b-day cake from Wal-Mart on one station and a gift basket full of food on another.:sad Sometimes they'll even let the winner recieve a free makeover at a salon.

I won a DVD player from my local radio station last year. :) I haven't won anything since, and never won anything before that. But, I sure do think about them every time I watch a movie. :)

Thanks! The win added some excitement to my otherwise boring night at work.

I won tickets to a water park about two hours away from my house once. Then I won a pizza. This was a hard rock station in the middle of rural Kentucky, though, so I was probably the only one listening :laugh

No, I've never won anything from a radio or any other kind of contest left to chance. I used to wonder if anyone ever really won those things, and I guess people do, now that I've read your posts!

I guess I just don't have that kind of luck. :shrug

There's a fishing program on my local radio station on weekends, 4 a.m. that I listen to on my way home from work. They have a trivia contest, and 3 years ago I won a pair of Costa Del Mar sunglasses. This past year I won a fishing rod and tackle box.
Questions were
1. What is Dagwood's mailman's name?(Mr Beasley)
2. What is the deepest lake in the U.S. (Crater Lake)

Here in NYC, I've called and called the local radio stations countless times for contests. Results: none of my calls went through. Oh well.

When I was 9, me and my friend spent the whole afternoon calling Radio Disney and none of our calls went through.

I won a hundred bucks once, just for being the right caller.

The radio station I listen to in Denver is currently running their Nip/Tuck special. They just gave away a nose job, and still have left to give a face lift, a breast augmentation and a liposuction job. I seriously wonder how they come up with these things!
