Its the south pole station, they have that snow all year long. and for 6 months it's total darkness, just like midnight for 6 months. even colder then.

Looks familiar, somewhat We always walked to school wintertime, afterall the 23 minutes of walking was keeping you warm instead of waiting for the bus and freezing at the busstop. And everyone came to school the day it actually was -43 C (legal limit we would not have needed to come was -42 C), one degree here or there... And the dark days are nice too, you get to see some amazing starlit skys instead of sun
ps. This is just my opinion in the matter.

I would just wither away and die without sunlight Joe! I'll take our pale wintery sunlight over total darkness anyday!
Last week a town in Alberta, I think it was, set recordbreaking cold temps. At one point their night temp was lower than the south pole's. -52 or something close to that. I wish I'd have paid better attention

It was here, and it was -59C. Which is around -75F. I don't think it was a record either.

whats neat is when it gets to -90, you can take hot water right fromt he faucet and throw it outside and it turns into steam right away, before it hits the ground. it's neat. i must have played for 30 minutes making all sorts of designs throwing it around.

Well, generally, central heating works quite well. As does insulation. But when you're working a drive thru (like i was) it involves the heater and a jacket and a crazy random "You go on window!" "No!" "You go on window" "NO!" "let me do coffees I'm frozen!" "NO!"

Um, yes. Sorry, I had a flashback.

You just deal with it. Sort of like the fun ice patterns. They ARE fun!
