He most certainly was an influential voice in the political/social advances made in the 60's.

I'm glad to see some people taking note of the man and the day here! The "I Have A Dream" speech is even more powerful when you learn that, somewhere around the point of "Go back to Mississippi", Dr. King departed from his prepared speech and spoke his heart instead!
