Car buyers in four states will soon hear a religious appeal to their environmental conscience: "What would Jesus drive?"

A Pennsylvania-based environmental group is planning television advertising in North Carolina, Iowa, Indiana and Missouri to urge consumers to park their pollutive SUVs -- Jesus would prefer a cleaner auto, the group contends.

"Economic issues are moral issues. There really isn't a decision in your life that isn't a moral choice," said the Rev. Jim Ball, executive director of the Evangelical Environmental Network, which is sponsoring the "What Would Jesus Drive?" campaign.

I always get a kick out of it when well meaning fanatics claim to know what Jesus would do. So they think they're as smart as Jesus, huh? I wonder if you can see their swelled heads from space.

I saw this report on TV - what a frickin joke. The best line was from some evangelist guy who you totally know drives some big gas guzzler SUV- "Well I think Jesus would drive one so he could carry around the disciples"

This has been all over the news here (with the auto industry) and one radio talk show I like to listen too had a "confess your sun of driving a gas guzzler" sigment, it was a scream. It was all guys calling in about their different custom cars or old cars that get 1-5 miles per gallon. They were all very proud of them.

Being a carpenter, Jesus would probably drive a 4 X 4. Dodge Ram, maybe?

Well, I think Jesus's powers would have updated themselves to the year 2002 and he could probably just transport himself by force of the mind by now.

If not, it would probably be a Chevy Impala
