ClosetNerd - nope - Upstate NY - Washington County - midway between Saratoga Springs, Glens Falls NY, and Bennington VT. Spend the better part the summers in my youth (and then some) around Cedar River Flow (my current avatar) and wilderness camping wherever a motorless lake was to be found. Most recently Lake Lila (that was my former avatar) and Little Tupper just north of Long Lake.

Done my fair share of snowmobiling (in a former life) around Indian Lake, Moose River Recreation Area and Old Forge. Beautiful!

Float plane ride out of Long Lake was $50.00 for Em and I (cuz we wanted to take a different route and view Lake Lila) truly a bargain - was end of last September/beginning of October. You get a true sense of the wilderness and remoteness of the region from the air. I'd highly recommend it if you've never done it. Smoothest landing/take-off ever!

nice to meet a fellow New Yorker (a real Upstate one!)

This was a picture taken of my town when the fires were raging in Southern California last year.

It was very scary at the time, but I am glad that I have this picture to remember it by.

It wasn't the most pleasant experience. Luckily I never had to officially evacuate. A friend of mine had to evacuate 3 times, the house next door to his was burnt down but luckily not his parents house.

One of the classrooms that I attended class in at Cal State was burnt down --- all the teaching classes are in the portables, which is the area that was hit by the fires.

The air was the thing that bugged me the most. You just walked out and the smell and the ashes were just overpowering for me.

    OMG, my desktop's Law & Order-free!

I bought myself a digital camera for my birthday, and I took this from the back of the Ferry Building.

Currently, Serenity is my wallpaper. It fits my whole Firefly theme.

Well, I've recently been hooked on the XBOX game "Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic" (1 AND 2....altho 1 is better I think ....), and in light of that...as well as the small motion picture event that's taking place in a few days.... I've put one of my favorite Star Wars critter on to my desktop.
