I'm so excited to be able to spend this weekend with my mom and family. Also, to simply be out of the rehab centre doing THINGS again. Being somewhat normal...even if it's with a walker and a slow pace!

I spent yesterday doing laundry, tidying the house, and pre-packing a suitcase. Today, I continued to vaccuum the house, wash the floors, do the dishes, water the plants indoors and outside. This afternoon I'm going over to my twin sinister's to celebrate my Dad's 78th birthday! And then Monday, I leave for Calgary to see my sweetie for a week!

Talk about it being a real labor day weekend! I'd rather have a non-labor day weekend!

Hopefully there isn't any snow while you're there! I saw on the weather channel it's supposed to snow. Yikes!

A great labour day weekend for me. Especially with the Rider win!

No snow here but definitely a lot of campers got snowed out in the mountains; and in the middle of the night! It's cool but sunny!

    I'm glad your Roughriders won!

Edmonton Eskimos stomped over the Calgary Stampeders in our Labor Day Classic with a 37-16 win! WOO HOO!!

As a proud Canadian, I'm afraid I must point out that it is Labour Day, north of the 49th.

    Cheers.

Re: How many Canadians are there here?

So I've sworn off buying cold cuts because of the listeriosis scare. I never bought that vacuum-packed stuff anyway, but my kids love bologna and ham and I also never paid attention to whether I was buying Maple Leaf, Schneiders, Burns, etc., from the deli. I broke down and bought some Western Family smokies (made by Overwaitea Foods in B.C.) but damn it, the school lunch situation is getting tough. My older daughter refuses to eat tuna or egg sandwiches, she can't bring peanut butter and how many cheese sandwiches can she eat every week? They don't have access to a mircrowave at school either. Today I sent her off with cold chicken nuggets I made last night.

So I have a question - has anyone resumed buying cold cuts? Or never stopped? Am I being ridiculously paranoid? I know that cold cuts aren't the greatest thing nutrition-wise, but a ham or bologna sandwich a couple times a week will at least get eaten.
