Re: Hair problem or questions

Shay, red can fade in 4 shampoos. Seriously... I am so jealous of people like my mom who had flaming red hair naturally when they were young. It looks so awesome!

Re: Hair problem or questions

I'll bet it did! I LOVE red hair, but I can't wear it! I have a male cousin who had screaming red hair all during childhood and high school; they used to call him "Sun Head"! Last time I saw him, he had taken to darkening it to a dark brown/black.

I'm glad to have the info, believe me - I didn't know that L'oreal made sulfate-free shampoo. My hair isn't dry, like I mentioned, but I do have issues with itchy/dry scalp (though I don't have dandruff). I just looked it up online and I'm going to look for it, thanks.

Re: Hair problem or questions

This season has been the worst for me with being itchy. My hair isn't overly dry but my scalp sure is. I've been trying to concentrate the conditioner more on the scalp area but it isn't seeming to do much good. It's time for me to get a new shower filter.... the chlorine in our water is probably not that good for my scalp.

I have been having the same problem! My head gets so itchy when my hair gets dirty, but after I wash I am even MORE itchy. Yarg!

Also, about Red fading fast.. I TOTALLY agree. I went red a while back and had to go back to dark after only a few months. I was allergic to the fancy color depositing shampoos that kept it from fading, and without them I had to recolor every 2 to 4 washes! It was way too much work, on top of feeling like it just wasn't *me*

Re: Hair problem or questions

Red haircolor fades faster because of something to do with the pigments. My hairdresser explained it to me once. I usually dye my hair strawberry blonde and the strawberry part tends to fade out leaving me pure blonde.

Re: Hair problem or questions

Are you folks who are dealing with this dry scalp problem taking allergy meds or antihistamines? I stopped taking them because they were drying out the skin all over my body. I guess it is possible that it could just affect your scalp.

It's pretty new -- L'Oréal calls its sulfate-free line "EverPure." It'll probably help with the itchy/dry scalp, too. I used to have a couple of annoying, recurring itchy dry patches on my scalp; they went away when I started using Trader Joe's sulfate-free products, and (knock on wood) haven't come back.
