I like Trader Joe's Organic Nourish Spa Shampoo and Conditioner. They're only four bucks each for a half-liter bottle, and smells fresh and clean. No artificial colors. Lots of natural ingredients. No sodium laurel/sodium laureth sulfate crap. My hair looks and feels much better using the Trader Joe's product that the expensive Rusk products I used prior to that. (The shampoo makes a nice body wash, too -- and the conditioner a nice leg-shave lotion!)

I use Bumble and Bumble shampoo and conditioner in the yellow bottle. It makes my hair so soft and shiny. I have dark hair with color in it and it doesn't seem to make it fade or dry out. The past two weeks or so I ran out and I've been using some Aveda shampoo and conditioner I have and I now have remembered why I switched over to Bumble and Bumble.

I wanted to say that I have tried various Jonathan products from free samples with my Sephora.com orders, and I have hated every.single.one. I don't know how the man stays in business -- the products have all been very gummy

You'll love it, I'm sure! At first I was skeptical because of the price, but I read the ingredient list and thought "What the hell; it's only $4 per bottle!" It's gentle on my scalp, color, everything. I've even used a pea-sized drop of the conditioner (rub briskly between palms to emulsify before applying) as a leave-in -- it keeps my hair soft and prevents fly-aways during dry Santa Ana weather. Try it, and you'll never go back to the higher-priced yet lower-quality stuff.

I have a question. You all know I dye my hair black. I have bangs which I trim myself. Recently I've noticed there seems to be a bald looking spot right above my bang line but I'm not losing a huge amount of hair. Do you all think this may be an optical illusion due to the bang line? Should I cut some more full bangs?
    Yup, with donuts!!

    Re: Hair problem or questions

Just dropped in to say I tried Feria this morning. I love it.
I had gone blondish with highlights for a few years and a couple months ago went back to dark brown (as close to natural as I am willing to go) with professional help. A couple weeks ago I wanted some 'caramel highlight' so tried color experte (which I had used in my blonde days). They had a new applicator that was supposed to make it easier - HA! I had tiger stripes - awful.

so I used the feria French Roast (deep bronzed brown) and I love it. feels great and all kinds of natural highlights. I expect it will lighten up a bit as I wash it, but I really like it. may be able to save about $100 every 2 months now.... *I do my own bangs when needed, and I'm letting the rest get longer anyhow.

meanwhile - buglover - you may want to change your bang 'part' up a bit. sometimes I go deeper into a V, sometimes I brush more back and move the part forward.
just as my actual hair part isn't always in the same place. it may help it to lay better.

Can you tell me which John Frieda products you use?

I've tried the Loreal Vive Pro and it works wonders. My hair, when I use it, is so soft and shiny

I use the Sheer Blonde shampoo and conditioner and the Blonde glaze

My daughter uses the Brunette products.

Walgreens here has them all on sale this week. 3 for $15 which is a terrific price.

Here's the site you can look at the products.

John Frieda® shampoo, conditioner, color enhancing and styling products

My hair has never looked more healty and shiner than when I started using this stuff a couple months ago. Rattus gave me the heads up and I'm glad she did. It has transformed my hair.

I love good 'ole Pantene for color-treated hair. It makes my hair so soft, shiny and manageable as I blow-dry.
