Hey firegirl,
Instead of the goggles, open a few windows a tiny bit and set up a fan behind or off to one side of you. I used to work as a cook and I spent 2 hours a day, 3 times a week chopping onions and that did the trick.

Thanks JR.. except it gets cold here in the winter... but I will try it when the weather is better.. we use a candle sometimes too but the goggles are faster and funnier anyway

Ken's cookie!
Firegirl, putting it in the freezer for 5 minutes or so before you slice it also helps some.

Dear firegirl or Kylie,
How can you tell when eggnog goes bad? According to the expiration date, it's still good. But it smells pretty funky. Is this normal?
Sincerely,
A Concerned Camper in Kansas

Jodarr,, has it been refrigerated the whole time?? eggnog does have its own 'smell' kind of spicy and thick.. if it has been refridgerated it is probably fine.. if it is a day or so before the date it could have gone bad.. I always find its best not to taste tosee if its good.. I err on the side of not puking.. but eggnog does have a sort of smell to it..

Yeah, it's been in the fridge the whole time. It's supposedly good until this Thursday. Maybe I'll just let Mrs Jodaar go first & see if she survives.
