There's nothing wrong with the grammar. It does seem a bit odd however.

Aside from the fact that I don't talk about bungee jumping or skydiving that often, I, too would talk like that. Why? Because my English teacher taught me to.

My SO says "axed" and also says "Mekisan" instead of Mexican. He is originally from the South and at first I thought it was a Southern thing but it seems to be more difficulties pronouncing X's and K's. I'm still not certain, but it drives me crazy.

Rather than being disturbed by punctuation errors and poor written format, I have a tendency to go into mental loops with mispronunciations of spoken words ( malapropisms ?). For example, when I hear chasm pronounced CHasm, I don't hear the rest of what is said.

As for commas ... when in doubt ... which is frequently ... I use ellipses ... and I believe I may be ellipse royalty ! In fact if my ellipses were dollars I'd be quite wealthy !

Hi, My name is Broadway and I am an ellipses addict.

My 7 year old nephew corrected me last night when I wrote something as ".... and I" and told me that I was only supposed to have 3 dots, not 4. I am a bad influence.

The world needs arbiters of grammar to make up for the likes of me.
