ok, i wrote the card. i said, "charlotte, loren told me yesterday that we had forgotten your birthday and that maybe this is why you have been so upset with me recently. i wanted to tell you that i didn't intentionally ignore your special day and i'm sorry if i hurt your feelings. if it was not just missing your birthday that has made you so upset, please feel free to tell me so that i can try to rectify the situation. life is too short to let things that can be fixed stay broken. anyway, i hope you had a special birthday."

ugh. now, do i hand it to her or shove it up her ass?

My heart would've been too. You'll have to let us know the outcome.

Sher, I think you handled the situation beautifully. Very well written.

Shoving it up her ass would have been a nice touch though
If you go through a lot of hammers each month, I don't think it necessarily means you're a hard worker.
It may just mean that you have a lot to learn about proper hammer maintenance.

Good for you, Sher! How is she reacting?

Horizontally would be nice. Oh, and leave the envelope flap open for that extra personal touch she despirately requires.
