yeah, i'm guessing us missing that birthday is really going to look like a whole lotta nothing here in a minute.

i just walked by her desk and it seems so sad that she is so clueless. that being said - it didn't seem like she was leaving early, as she had just gotten her lunch.

she's not being let go b/c of downsizing... she's being let go because she's difficult (for lack of a better word.) now, she's got the absolute worst boss. i mean, a real jerkoff. he yells and cusses and is demeaning and rude, but she stayed with him and he always seemed frustrated with her, but never really did anything about it. and the other guy she does stuff for (her boss' partner) really just can't stand her. he's a bit of an egomaniac, but nothing near the magnitude of her ass of a boss. and they just recently brought in a 3rd guy. he's a peach. when i see him with these guys, i always want to sing, "one of these things is not like the other." my guess is that they are anticipating more work soon and don't want to have to work closely with psychocharlotte. but i don't know. i mean, had she done something specific to piss them off, wouldn't they have just told her at that time? and a firing at 5pm on a friday - isn't that a bit harsh? they better be giving her severence since there is no notice!

loren (my boss) told me that they've already hired someone else, too. man... when did all of this go down? i have got to keep my office door open more often.

    >>>>>>>If your paychecks go from Friday to Friday, then at least she'll get paid for the whole week. Will the new person start on Monday and do you know who will be training him/her? Also, if she is fired on Friday, then the office talk and distraction will be less after a weekend when the whole thing is a couple of days old. When people get fired at your job, do they get escorted out of the building?

Now, keep your eyes peeled and your ears sharp!

Wow, I almost missed all of this. sher you *have* to keep us posted. I feel like I know the old gal personally now.

Hopefully, the person they hired won't be even worse. That's been known to happen.

i don't know when her pay schedule runs, as we don't really work with them. i'm led to believe from what vague info loren has skimmed off of one of the brokers, that the newbie starts monday. and we're a small group of people. not a company. no hr. no training, etc. and again, too small and unimportant to do the escort out of the office stuff. and we don't really talk to the other people in the office too terribly much about stuff. and not to bag on women, but they are usually the ones that are in on the office talk and gossip, etc. but charlotte and i are the only women here.... and you guys already know she's not talked to me in a month.

What time does she normally leave? The suspense is ahhh. re: guys, they gossip too and talk a lot about sports, there just quieter about it.

BTW, you would always give her a card that says, "we'll miss you, sorry to see you go" and stand back as her jaw drops!

That does suck Sher. I always feel bad when people lose their jobs. The situation just seems cold.

At her age, it is not easy to find something else.
If you go through a lot of hammers each month, I don't think it necessarily means you're a hard worker.
It may just mean that you have a lot to learn about proper hammer maintenance.

man... when my boss and i left at 5:30, she was still in the office with her boss, with the door shut, and an hour or so had passed since she'd gone in. and she never ate her lunch. yuck. at 5:30, i told loren that we had to get out of there... that i didn't want to see her when she came out. he said, "you mean you don't want to tell her goodbye?" it HAD to be sarcasm, but i said, "uh. no." soooooo, i don't know how it turned out. i'm guessing i'll know when i come in on monday morning to a newbie at her desk.

Be sure to find out when the newbie's birthday is, and BE READY THIS TIME DAMN IT!
