I'm not liking the new McDonalds commercial where it's very early in the morning and two fathers have found themselves grabbing a bite to eat because they are new Dads. And one of them starts to make baby crying sounds for the other dad to tell him what it means. I switch channels immediately. I don't want to hear that loud crying from a grown man. Neither does it entice me to go to McDonalds. They should connect the product with something pleasurable like stopping a baby from crying by giving it a teaspoon of healthy yogurt or something. That would be more positive from a viewers standpoint. JMO.

Actually, he's asking the other Dad what it means. It's likely a voice over as well. But I digress. I don't like it either and reach for the mute button right away.

They weren't even that late because I was flipping thru channels to see what was on with my 4 YEAR OLD daughter next to me and ran across one. WTH!? This was on regular basic cable channels. I really don't want my teenagers getting educated in that manner. I just cannot imagine they would stumble across that and then come say "Hey mom, I saw this thing on TV. What's that all about?" If consenting adults want to purchase that stuff fine, but can't they go to the Internet for it? Why does it have to be splashed all over my television!?
I know exactly what you're talking about. I fell asleep the other night watching the Oxygen channel and woke up to a twirling purple "massager" on my tv screen, with some women pitching it as calmly as an oxy clean commercial. I have got to stop falling asleep in front of the TV. I've already learned that if you're tired, avoid cinemax. It never fails that I wake up to one of those soft porn type shows

^ Is this the same commercial where those two chicks are discussing the merits of that "thing"...and the old lady leans over telling them they can buy it online? Good lord that commercial is bizarre.

Smartguy, no that commercial is seen on all the channels. What closet is referring to is an actual "show" on Oxygen that sells adult "novelties" for lack of a better word. I have also fallen asleep on the couch and wake up to see that on the tv and wonder what the heck am I watching.

I think this is kind of like a regularly scheduled show on Oxygen, shown late at night/early a.m. At first it looks like just another infomercial or a bit like home shopping, QVC kind of show.....then when the eyes and ears adjust one realizes just what they are selling. This show also has a website that one can order such things from.

ETA: Back in post #374, I mentioned how one afternoon, my daughter turned on ABC Family channel and an Extenze commercial was running. This was at 1 in the afternoon, on a school day. I wondered how many other kids were watching this. I had to actually check to make sure what channel she had on! I could only imagine how many young kids, kindergarten and younger who would still be at home would have that channel on the TV. Busy moms or sitters could be cleaning up after lunch and not even think such a commercial would be on that channel.

Extenze is the most irritatingly annoying product being hyped in my universe. Three hours of tv and it seems like I see about 30 of their ads, no exaggeration.

Their current main spokesbud speaks of finally trying out their product thinking 'This could be fun' after in his words seeing the ads run 'over and over'. He neglected to add the rest of the over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and overs I imagine were involved, but thats understandable, him being pressed for time selling his nausiating product.

What would be "fun" in my view would be for the FDA or some other regulatory agency to actually take a close little looksee at this product. Maybe it might then disappear from my screen.

Those Enzyte and Extenz commercials make me laugh. I do hate them because it seems as though all night when I cannot sleep I have to hear about how men should use this, blah blah. I just think to myself, are there that many men up this late at night concerned about their size? Geeze.
