I think another thread talked about this too...lol. There are "rules" for drug advertisements. If you say what the drug is for, you also have to state what the side effects and contra-indications are, which could scare folks off from asking their doctor about the drug.Originally posted by cali
What really bugs me... which isn't CE thing, but when they advertise prescription meds, tell you to ask your Doc if it's right for you, but doesn't tell you what the hell it's for.
A "reminder" ad, such as you mention, doesn't have to talk about the bad things since it never tells what the drug is for. One of the allergy medicines had to revise a "reminder" ad at one point. Even though it didn't say what the drug was for, the visual of the ad was enough to convey it was an allergy med--but it never mentioned side effects.
