There are loads of those down here in LA, must be chain that spread its wings. My boyfriend and I always make the joke..."Where do you wanna go?" "Phukit. Let's do Thai."

My best friend is from Vietnam. She had 1 Brother and 1 sister . Her mom and dad changed their name to a "american" name. Her brother changed his name from Phuc to Steve! We STILL tease him about it. He is a doctor now and his sister (my best friend) calls him Dr. Phuc! He gets all pissy...its so funny.

Difficult last names....My maiden name is Otahal. You would be suprised how hard that name is to say. Thankfully my last name is easer now...Gratzer.
My maiden name was Learn. Even supposedly sensetive teachers made fun of it, and no one could spell it! I was so thrilled to change it to Tabor when I finally got married at 35!

I spoke to someone once about a woman who had named her twins Tonya and Tanya. I think she was a little short on imagination!

Wow.. I finally came out of lurking.

And the best to me is an old family name that we can't seem to get anyone to use, Theopholus.
I have a cousin named Theopholus! Everyone calls him The, though. I always thought it was really odd, but we've got many weird ones in my extended family.

I had a doctor at one point: Dr.Pepper. I laughed at him everytime I saw him and he acted like I was crazy. Dr. Pepper? He didn't get that?

    So here's the longer anecdote:

I was married to Wesley Barfuss. (I know, I know). We had two kids. Let me say it before anyone else does: my kids were Barfii.
Fortunately they are girls and both have since married. (however, I secretly wanted to have a boy and name him Ralph.)
