    Probably because the first and last letters of the words aren't in the correct position.

    I read it just fine, only had to slow down at phenominal.

    I had no problem reading that at all, most likely because that's how I spell most of the time, I can get the first letter right and the last letter but the more into the middle I get, the harder time I have.

    Personally I have always felt the ability to spell well was greatly overated.

    the trick is the first and last letters are "right" in these sentences, but not in those blasted word jumbles. I guess our minds are better at "filling in the blanks" between two bookends than starting from scratch when you don't even know what part of the alphabet your brain should be wandering through. That is fascinating, fluff, thanks for posting.
