What's the longest you've gone without TV?

I'm about to go on a painting retreat for one week, no phone or TV to distract us. I want to focus on painting so this is perfect; but it did get me thinking about how TV plays an almost-daily part of my life. (Daily if you count the ever-important Sesame Street so that I can drink my coffee every morning.)

How long have you gone without TV?

Let's see, I left for work at 7:30 am this morning and it's 11:00 am now, that would make it, oh about 3 1/2 hours!

Seriously, probably about a week, a couple of times in the 80's, when I was a camp counselor on Catalina Island in CA.

Well, we just had the blackout a few weeks ago - that was pretty painful.

Actually, if I'm going on vacation, I usually do okay. I don't watch all THAT much television during the summer, but this summer has been the exception.

I do watch a lot of television, but I don't really find that it hinders the rest of my life. VCRs are a great invention.

I'd have to say the longest was 2 months....... when I was 13 we were at camp for the summer, at that time I would have chosen a flush toilet over a tv lol

I think a week was my longest. The only time I really watch TV besides the 10 PM news on Saturday is TAR season, so there.

Actually, I think it will be harder to do without FORT than TV (at least, now that TAR is over)!

The longest was 2 months between my junior and senior year of high school. I went to 5 different camps and a two week family vacation one right after the other.

Well I know that you cannot get Directv up there, but they do have Tivo's for cable systems.
