Fixing a household appliance by myself.
Although this totally blows my "helpless" female act and now I will have to do it again because I've proved I can.
Hubby left today to go out of town for several days. We have a problem with the condenser coil in the fridge freezing up. First time, we spent $65 on a repairman who came in, emptied the freezer, took off a panel in the back of the inside of the freezer and used a blowdryer to "thaw" it out. Next time, hubby did it.
So OF COURSE, he leaves and I notice the fridge is not very cold which is the sign that the coil has frozen again.
It's not hard, its just tedious because you have to stick your head and shoulders kind of sideways all the way inside the freezer and use a wrench to get the nuts off the panel which is hard because you have to be a contortionist to actually reach them all twisted sideways.
But at least I did it myself and we didn't have to spend another $65 on the repairman.
Why do things like this happen when the husband is away? Nothing else better be a problem this week, I'm tellin' ya!I am NOT in the mood.
Everything happens when the husband is away. My hubby travels a lot for business and I swear as soon as his butt hits the plane seat, something major breaks. We are taking possession of a new house soon, and it will be me meeting with the owners to go over water shut-offs, etc.
I am the happiest when all my kids are home, and we are doing something simple like watching a movie together.
My car tends to act up as soon as mr buglover leaves the country twice a year. This time we did a full tune up and oil change and rotated the tires, checked the brakes and sure enough....he left and it shifted very hard for 3 days.
Simple pleasure is working from home for me.
The warmth from an electric blanket.
my daughter's happiness. That's enough. And she is doing very well so I'm happy about that.
I take care of my father who has dementia and when he knows who I am and smiles, it makes my day.
Sometimes just when the sun is out, I feel happy.
