mrd, I like the kids' hat idea for a themed birthday party!
The simple thing that's making me happy today is watching my baby stare in wonder at the lights on the tree. She's been in the same spot for about a half hour.![]()

Getting lost will help you find yourself.
I miss those days lil.
Plastic beach buckets work well too for adults and kids.
I used to be the queen of gift baskets. I don't do too many anymore as my Christmas gift list has been hacked way back in recent years. I did 30 baskets one year for Christmas. I think that's the most I've ever done.

I'm going to have to go ahead and assume (sorry, just bought Office Space) that everyone here knows I'm an avid bike commuter, so bikes generally make me happy. But I just bought an electric bike, and wheeeee!!!! Man, I love that thing. My first trial trip around the block I was literally tee heeing with pure joy. I don't know if the bike itself qualifies as simple, but the sheer pleasure of just zipping along like I were mopeding in a Bermuda spring (instead of electric biking in a Canadian winter) is wildly satisfying.
All I wanted was a 45, a stinking 45 - the record or the gun. I'd even settle for the damn malt liquor. - Al Bundy.
I should have posted this earlier.
I had to take my daughter to another town where she is taking exams to get her HS diploma.
I went downtown and its a very old, historic, but small downtown. It has old fashioned streetlights and they were all decked out for Christmas. The temps were in the low 40's and as it was getting dark, I enjoyed walking down the sidewalks, peering in the lit shop windows and enjoying the feel and looks of Christms in the mountains. I found several little gems of stores that I browsed and had a wonderful little dinner in the local diner. It was so nice to just get out and do something like this ALONE for a change.
And just enjoy the sights and smells and feels of this quaint little downtown.

I had a wee nip last night with a touch of Amaretto in it. Delish!Originally Posted by misskitty;2698290;
(sorry, I'm reading a book about Scotland and I'm listening to an Irish Celtic band do Christmas music, and I think I'm getting carried away with my way of talking and writing at present. Aye?)

You should get a "Clapper" to plug your tree into. My sister's kids used to think it was magic when she would clap her hands to turn on the tree. So imagine how astonished they were when the dog figured out he could do it by barking - true story!Originally Posted by lildago;2695313;
My simple pleasure today? Seeing the long list of "Gutmutters" in the last posts column of General Discussion telling me I've been hogging the bandwidth and need to get off my butt and get this weekend started. Ha!
Count your blessings!
