I was to meet friends for dinner last night at Chili's. I arrived first and after waiting a few min. decided I would treat myself to a margarita. I rarely drink, so I went in and sat at the bar and ordered. As I was sitting there watching CNN and enjoying my drink, the bartender came up to tell me that a man at the end of the bar wanted to buy me a drink. I almost whipped my head around to look to see if she was talking to someone behind me. I declined as one drink is my limit and I am married and my friends thankfully came in at that moment, but it was very flattering actually (he was pretty nice looking too, but not Johnny Depp, that one I would have danced on the bar for! . So not sure if this falls into the simple category, but to know that even tho my husband says I look nice, to have a stranger think it too was, to be honest, a real moral booster.
THis whole thing probably sounds a tad conceited. As I have recently lost a GREAT deal of weight, I was definetly flattered by the offer because 90 pounds ago, no one would have offered. Hey, I'll take any compliment I can get these days! It's been many, many, many years since anyone besides my husband has made that offer.

Hugs from friends/family, chocolate (heavenly! ), and the sound of the rain beating against the ground when I'm about to fall asleep.

I love this thread, 'cause I think it's so heartwarming to read about the wonderful gratitude-inspiring things in each others' lives.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! to everyone on being happy!!!

Me? The thing that's making me happy today is knowing that Gutmutter's way out there in Africa having the adventure of a lifetime!!! For some reason she's been on my mind all weekend, and I'm just so thilled to know she's not even on the same continent that I'm on right now!

Edited To Add Having Gut away from here has nothing to do with me not wanting to share this continent with her, or anything . . . it's just so great to know she's on that cool trip that we all talked about a year or so ago!

NOT AT ALL!!! It doesn't sound conceited at all and it must've made you feel fantastic. Losing all that weight isn't easy and to have other people acknowledge it...wow! You go, girl! (I know, that saying's so out of it someone probably complained about it in the "current fads you wish would die out" thread!)

I know this is going to sound totally weird and boring...but it makes me REALLY happy to have a full pantry and fridge. One of my favorite little moments is right after I've put all the groceries away and I have a whole array of EVERYTHING I want to eat right at my little finger tips (unlike at the end of the week when I'm scrounging for something...ANYTHING...to eat!).

That makes me happy too! I love when the fridge is full and the pantry!!!!

I love watching my 16 month old sleep. Right now we are having a heatwave but he managed to fall asleep. He is just in a diaper and looks delicious. Looking at his little chubby feet with his tater tot toes....make me grin big time!!!!!

I went to buy some fabric today for a dress I'm making, a rather expensive one. The clerk was very nice and when he forgot to put some things on the tab he gave them to me on the house, even though I offered to pay for them. He didn't have one fabric that I needed so he was going to order it, since he said he wanted it anyways so it was understood that I would buy that fabric there and not in another store.

I really feel like the next time I need fabric I will definitely go there since he was so nice.

You sound like a lot of guys I used to know .....

I love blueberries. Simple. We only get them for awhile every year and I just smile when I see them finally in the store. Gotta have some every day.

Anticipation. We are leaving on Friday morning for a 16 day vacation and just the anticipation of it is putting the biggest smile on my face today. Winnie the Pooh said it best (I'm paraphrasing since I can't remember the exact quote): The best part of eating a pot of honey is not the actual eating of the honey, but the moment of anticipation right before you take that first bite.
