Finding "free" (well, "free" as in "included in the cable bill") workout videos on an On-Demand channel.
Hubby and I wanted to join a gym as per his surgeon's advice to help him to prevent recurrance of prostate cancer. His prostate was removed in January, and the first post-op PSA showed no detectable cancer, but you never know when a rogue cell will rear up its very ugly head. Regular, consistant cardio — along with a healthful, non-Monsanto non-ConAgra, et al, diet — is the best defense.
Well, after all of the surgery expenses, coupled with loss of income from time off work (I'm a freelancer, and hubby's employer doesn't do sick pay of any sort — yes, it's legal), gym membership — even the Y — is beyond our budget. So imagine our happiness when, while flipping channels, we discovered Fitness on Demand! It's actually better for us, since we don't have to plan a time to schlepp over to the Y. We can just work out at home. And if we're clumsy and dorky-looking? So what! It's just us.
Yup — this week's simple-pleasure Nirvana!
