What simple things make you happy?

That kind of drive is a white-knuckler for me.
I'm happy to be warm and have my children all safe and doing well. I spent 2 hours slowly making my way through an outdoor line to get into the funeral home in very cold weather last night. A dear friend has 4 daughters. The youngest two are twins who just graduated from HS. One of them was killed in a car accident Friday.

My old cat playing chase with the new cat. Not fighting, just playing. Now she's on the top tier of the cat tree. He's afraid of heights.

Arriving safely at my childhood home after a 1000 mile drive around a blocked interstate which resulted in a lovely drive down the Redwood Highway!

Assembling a gingerbread house and baking cookies with hubby -- while watching The Thin Man movies I DVRed earlier this week from TCM's Thin Man marathon.

My simple pleasure has been having my daughter home from college for one last long break. It's her senior year, so after this, she'll only be home for visits. I got out my bead stash and we made necklaces last night while she caught me up on the current Dexter season.
