What simple things make you happy?

Simple pleasure today: starting my annual Valentine prep. I know I sound like Walmart, rushing one holiday before the last is over, but I cut a lot of hearts out by hand from magazines. I look for interesting colors and textures (Vogue is always a gold mine) and cut them all different sizes. I keep a box from year to year and it is really low. I must not have cut them last year. Unusual homemade Valentines are my passion.

My simple pleasure. It's the first day of a new year and the feeling is that it's a year of possibilities! I love beginnings, so today is one of those days that I feel the whole year stretching out before me with endless options.

Today's simple pleasure? I could turn off the phone because work didn't need to call me or my husband, so I don't have to talk to anyone I don't want too and lately, that is definetly a simple pleasure as I have had to deal with some real winners peoplewise over the last few weeks.

GAA, that makes me sound like a reccluse. But just one day of knowing I don't have to answer the phone makes me so happy.

Makes perfect sense to me. I hate talking on the phone, so it's a beautiful day when I don't have to hear it ringing.

One of my simple pleasures - playing in the yard with my dogs. They always make me smile.
