Re: What simple things make you happy?

I cracked myself up today. I work with elementary school kids and a couple of them were in some sort of decision-making dilemma. As I counseled them on how to choose whatever it was, I found myself saying to them, "Make it work..." realizing a minute later that I had been mentoring them "Tim Gunn style". I must take Project Runway more seriously than I had thought - it has permeated my daily language!

That's a great picture, Unk. You can tell just from looking at it that you guys have a great relationship. That's something he'll remember and cherish his entire life.

Re: What simple things make you happy?

He hasn't lost it all yet. It's quite patchy so my son keeps it buzzed close. Last week he got the high and tight, shaved to the skin on the sides with a little bit on top like the military. He buzzed mine all over (#1 guard) so the next cut I get will be a bare blade cut. As soon as I get my DIL to email the pictures of my current haircut to me I'll post them.

Re: What simple things make you happy?

Having a moment where a dear friend let's me know that something I've done or said really made a difference to them.

*This isn't really a little something, but reading the comments about $ made me think about this and I thought I'd share. Let me preface this story by saying that the day before this happened I found out that my DH had been given 6 weeks to find another job (it took 8 months but that's beside the point). About 5 years ago my daughter and I had been to Sam's Club and as I was getting in my car I happened to look down and just under the car was a folded $. I honestly don't think it was there when we parked but I suppose I could have missed it, but it was so obvious I've always wondered. Anyway, when I unfolded the money it was a 100 dollar bill. I had my child with me and I knew that had I been the one to lose that money I would be devastated, soooooo....we carried it in to Sam's and turned it in telling them where we found it. I figured that was that. Thirty days later they called me and told me that they had not recieved any inquiries and to come get the money. I always felt that maybe that was God's way of telling me that everything would be okay.
