Getting better and better at teaching my little rockhead angels how to do division.....and them "getting it"! We are talking middle schoolers and high schoolers, here! Have to admit that I am shocked that they get out of grade school without really knowing how to do this....and multiplication. There is a lot to be said for rote learning of multiplication tables....I don't care what anybody says!

When I was in school, you know back in the dark ages, you couldn't pass the fifth grade if you didn't know your "times tables". And no one was every allowed to use a calculator until junior high algebra class. And calculators used to be expensive. I remember I lost one in the 8th grade and I almost cried because I knew my mom would be mad.

Having the cat curled up next to me while I type is a simple pleasure for me.

Having an off-the-charts brilliant new tutoring student (6-year-old) who is interested in everything and loves learning -- and who has a sweet smile, contagious laugh, and deep dimples. Honest to god, this kid is gonna keep me on my toes to continue to find things to challenge him.
