When to stop trick or treating?

What do you think is the right age for children to stop trick or treating?

I was talking to a lady when I dropped my boys off to their playgroup this morning who had loads of mid to late teens round her house last year is rubbishy costumes trick or treating.

    Well,
I think when you become a teen(13) then it is time to stop going door to door. That is when you begin going to halloween parties. If you can go door to door without your mommy, then it is time to stop. That is when the trouble starts.....teens trickin on their own.

Ammendment: Any 16-18 year old that will take his/her much smaller bros/siss/cousins tick or treating should get a chance at the candy/treats....as long as they are acting accordingly.

10? I think that's the rule of thumb around here.

I'll probably give it up this year, but I'm not making any promises.
When you're ten years old and a car drives by and splashes a puddle of water all over you, it's hard to decide if you should go to school like that or try to go home and change and probably be late. So while he was trying to decide, I drove by and splashed him again. - Jack Handey

All my kids are done, and I couldn't be happier. I think the last time I went I was 11.
I HATE seeing the older kids go!

    I agree Fief.
If an older child is escorting a younger sibling they should get to have some of the candy the younger one has collected, but as for knocking on the door and asking yourself I don't think that's right.

My brother and I once ran out of candy in July and threw on our costumes for a spin around the block. It was amazing to see our neighbors scramble through their supplies to find us candy!

We were, like, 6 and 4 at the time.

And, geez, Perc! Britney Spears?!? My hair's way too short.
