I love any avatar that goes with the time of year or season that it is.

I was honoring Bjorn, but now I'm getting into the winter season.

Now that our dear Bjorn is safely at the Rainbow Bridge running free, happy and young again, it is time to begin the season with the Making Spirits Bright CD.
    - The Dean Martin Show -

Petula Clark: You know they say you can't buy happiness.
Dean Martin: No but you can pour it..

My first avatar on FORT was in honor of Newf's Bjorn. What a gorgeous doggie he was!

The one I have now is in honor of my beloved Lucky, who is purring up a storm in God's lap.

Allie - what a beauty Lucky is. ( I never say was, since they always stay in my heart) I can just see Lucky arriving at the Rainbow Bridge and my Mona saying oh no! another black & white one *sigh* I better teach this one THE LOOK. Just think Allie - Lucky is now running with a full tummy, all healthy and free to be a kitty again.

    Thank you.

My baby went through a lot in her life. (We found her on the side of the road with two broken legs, a cracked hawk and bone infection). Her mantra, (and a nod to Finding Nemo) was "Just keep purring."

It broke my heart when the last day and night of her life she couldn't purr. But I know she is purring up a storm now.

Lucky reminds me of a girl that I had--very pretty! (Yes, there was a time when I had cats, not dogs.)

I'm not surprised. If you love opera, you love cats. (ie: Location: Enchanted by a beautiful soprano)

My surviving cat, Rocky, has a middle name: Caruso. (He's part Siamese and has quite the, uh, voice) Plus he is a tuxedo kitty.

Re: How/Why did you choose your avatar?

I had never heard the opera-cat correlation before. You are right that I love opera; the woman in my avatar is Eugenia Garza, a Mexican soprano that I saw sing Mimi in La Boheme a couple of years ago. Beautiful voice!

Cats, not so much. I don't have anything against cats per se, but if I was given a choice between a kitten or a Newf pup, I would go with the Newf every time.
