Unklescott, I think your precious Tiggs was a girl kittie? Oops, my apologies. I referred to her as a him.

Lois, I'm sure that Tigger was a guy. You had it right.

Changed mine back to honor my Rocky. He left us on 5/4/06. I really lost it when I read the Rainbow Bridge poem and remembered how much I will miss Rocky.

A few years back I did a radio piece about Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. At the end of the story I talked about their pet cemetery. I must have tried unsuccessfully more than 4 times to read a poem that is inscribed at the entrance. Each time I had to stop because it reminded me of all the pets who have brought me so much joy over the years. In fact I daren't read it before finishing this post. I know the tears are just a thin memory away.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow.
When you awaken in the mornings hush
I am the swift uplifting rush, of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft star that shines at night
Do not stand by my grave and cry
    I am not there
    I did not die
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.

That Rainbow Bridge makes me lose it every time. I bet Rocky is there running, playing and doing all that other fun dog stuff.

Best Friends is such a great place. My mother volunteers there once a year. That is a beautiful poem, Uncle David. Thanks for posting it.

That is so nice of your mom. I wish I had the time to do the volunteer thing there. So rewarding... so needed. Tell your mom I think she's great for doing her part.
