I don't like the word at all Cali.
People never seem to say may nowadays, always can.

Some of the comments in this thread have me laughing so hard, I may have to go to the can.

OK - my dictionary doesn't have the word "flacid", but the word "flaccid"

Wayne's lack of spelling acumen rears it's ugly head once more.

It bugs me when I go to a restaraunt and order my food, then never see the waitress again....have to ask the bussboy for more water and when the waitress does finally grace us with her presence; get the wrong change back. Sound familiar Sher? Sher filled out the comment card that came with the after dinner mint and then the waitress came back with a new card and suggested that we fill it out ina more possitive manner, cause the other one was in the trash and would never be seen by the manager. Shocked speachless; we left. I called back to the restaraunt when we got home and talked to the manager. We got $40 in gift certificates and Alice does not work there anymore. Appearantly we were not the first victims of Alice's inneptness. Would that bother you?
It occurred to me that no matter how bleak things might seem at times, at least I have a head. ----Stargazer

Wow, Feif! What a TERRIBLE waitress! Augh! I've never had one that was THAT rude, though I've dealt with my fair share of poor food servers. I think the management handled it very well.

Once I was having fajitas with a friend. The waiter brought the food, but no tortillas. We asked for some, but they never came. We finally saw another waitress and asked her for some tortillas. Our guy has a pretty big attitude to begin with, so when he finally showed up with some tortillas (after we saw him watch the other waitress bring some) he said "Here, just in case." I said "What? Just in case we didn't notice that you forgot to bring us any?" The guy totally blew it - he was waiting on two former waiters; if he had been simply adequate he would have ended up with a generous tip.

Oh, the joys of tipping. Here's my scale:

    REALLY good service: 20 %
    Adequate service: 15 %
    Half-decent service: 10%
    Okay... I guess service: 5%
    Really bad service: 0%

    I hate tipping.
I hate feeling obliged to give a tip whether the service I;ve had is good or not.
I would never give more than ten percent and it irks me to give that even if I've had excellent service.
