Hadn't heard that yet (as it's only 8pm here, and no news on TV yet). This is so awful! How can anyone function out there??? Although, given there are some 2 mill. people there, the risk is pretty slim, but anyhow, it would make me scare to death (no pun intended).
It's been on CNN now for almost an hour (I'm a news junkie).
A friend listening to a scanner told us the police had stopped a white van and taken the guy into custody. But that is most likely either another felon, someone driving without a license or something benign.
Don't have cable....
(But am news junkie too.)

Honestly I think with the number of white vans around people are bound to see one somewhere near a shooting. This one does not sound related to me.
Also, My Mom has a theory on the shootings. She thinks they are over:

I just heard in the radio that someone is in custody that might be the sniper. Nothing posted yet on cnn.com, but msnbc has this blurb:Quote:

My wife just called me also, police had surrounded phone booth at a gas station near the last shooting (I believe), This could be the booth with the phone number Moose asked him to call.
Also, they seized/stopped/something a white mini-van at that location.
Yeah they have someone pulled over at a gas station in Richmond, VA right now.
And the person was driving a white van....which makes me wonder if they just looked suspicious.
Not sure if you saw all the news coverage on Sat. night but they were making people get out of their vans at gunpoint to check every car that entered this one area of Montgomery county, MD.
