Wow! I'm just noticing this thread.
My dog definitely rules the roost. Anything my dog wants, she gets.
My family has accepted that fact. I have 2 sisters that are scared of dogs, but they had to get used to My dog if they wanted to come over to visit. They are still scared of other dogs, but my dog won both of them over.

It's always the dog (and they have us fooled that we are their owners! )

The cats, without a doubt. I'm very lucky that they allow me to sleep in their bed, although they don't let me have much room.

Since I haven't answered this in 8 months, I thought I'd take a moment to re-affirm the fact that I am now a lowly FOURTH on the totem pole, as we've acquired the cat recently.

    Wife, dog, cat.............me.

I share "first" with Kitty. He is part-siamese and is a talker. He'll perch atop an armchair and deliver a variety of soliloquys. Sometimes I listen and sometimes I don't, but there's no denying that I belong to him and not the other way around. He gets everything he wants. But I take my time in giving it to him, and he doesn't mind being used as a pillow. We're nice to one another, like a long-time married elderly couple. We co-habitate well.

My husband and I both do. Neither of us has total rule. It's a mutual thing.
