lol, attacked? maybe stalked or stared at- or even violated-
thats how the gator was staring at me- he just wasn't moving... like he was being sneaky or something...

and Joe, i didn't intend to jump at him, instinct- while golfing a few weeks ago, i had a 4 foot gator who decided he wanted to go from pond to pond via the cart path, right as i was driving by- holy crap was he fast- just a black blur with a big splash when he hit the water... needless to say that while i am running (and i run about 50 miles a week), i am constantly thinking of a contingency plan in case a gator decides to come after me... sort of ruins the run- not good times...

Quinn, one of my earliest memories was of trying to share my ice cream cone through the fence with the 'doggie' next door.

'cept it was Titusville (my dad worked on the Cape for many years) and our next door neighbor was (illegally) raising an alligator in his back yard.

My mom still tells that story, and her near heart attack when she looked through the kitchen window and saw me, just gets more and more serious!

    Bumpkin!

What a nutty story - I'm sure your mom must have flipped!

Quinn, I admire your tenacity. It must be hard to run 50 miles a week in that big parka.

Well, JoeGuy, this would have been in about 1970 ...

Dad worked at the Cape for 12 years, and we moved back to TN in 1971. Funny, I still remember our address from that house, and years ago a business trip took me close enough to Titusville to give me a chance to see if I could find the old house ...

30 years . I guess one should reasonably expect some gas stations to sprout up, or street names to be changed ...

I wouldn't want to hit a deer on a motorcycle or in a car! They can do serious damage! I was almost hit by one while I was riding a bike last week! Was kind of freaky.

OH Yeah, I think I would choose a different weapon. I would want something a little more high powered than a digital camera.
