I am laughing my butt off at this thread.

What is shizzle my nizzle? Never heard that one.

I cringe everytime I hear "booty".

No, but you can make fun of them. That usually shuts them up.

I could do without "It's all good."

    For example:

a: Woah! Watch where you're going!
    b: It's all good.

Yes, life is good and all that (oops). Still, is it worth it to practice avoidance and pretend things are good when they're not? Get the issue out on the table and THEN make up.

    Another example:

a: I am so totally sorry that I ate your frozen plums.
    b: It's all good.

I'd prefer it if someone accepted my apology rather than the too-soon skip to "everything's now okay."

I do like "wassup?" and "that's wack," though. They crack me up.

If things went my way, I'd also do away with the following:

    1) phonetag
    2) tag, you're it
    3) hopefully (when used improperly)
    4) I found myself ... (As in, I found myself thinking I use this phrase a lot.)
    5) weapons of mass destruction (not sure of a replacement)

How about: the dillio, illio, if that's the correct spelling.

"Off the chain", "all that", "dope", "girlfriend" and anything involving handwaving and "no you didn't" like Alicia from Survivor.

Most slang I use usually involves swearing so I can't use it here but I am a big fan of "scheisse" and "Uff-da".

If I'm not mistaken, fo' shizzle my nizzle = for sure, my ni**er (er, yeah, the bad word for blacks -- it's OK for them to call each other that, though...)

fo' shizzle my bizzle = for sure, my brother or something like that

I think all of these are hilarious!! I laughed sooooo hard at Shayla's post-

a: I am so totally sorry that I ate your frozen plums.
    b: It's all good.

    Oh, that's lovely. :rolleyes

Thanks so much for the explanation, build_me_up. I've been wondering about that for some time. "You da bomb!"

One that gets me is: Don't go there - Go where? In da house drives me bonkers. But then I digress to my day when it was
"far out" to use slang. Never did say Groovy as that one always bothered me.

I wonder why we don't say some of the days gone by slang. We say cool, but not hip or groovy. Where's the slang that our grandma's used?
