    Life is too short

    life is too short
    to leave things unsaid
    life is too short
    to worry over whats right
Live a little. Spend some time
    Giving love to complete strangers
Live is for doing, not regrets
take a dare, dance like an idiot
Who cares what people may say
    Eventualy they'll come o you
    asking you what happened
Life is too short for worry
    Not that you shouldn't think
    But being in the world
    Unassuming, unafraid
    is far better than asking
    Why didn't I do this?

    Happiness is
    Happiness is a warm stomach
A good laugh and a smiling face
When things go well It all feels right
Like walking on the grass with your shoes off.
Bad things are minor when your happy
You can whistle a happy tune,
    and it wont seem corny.
    And thats what happiness is:
A feeling in the air that enters you.
A friendly embrace. It need not mean anything.
    And doesn't need to.

The water looks Quiet and still
    The new day is here.

Wow, senrik. You've got quite a prolific body of work!

Here's a little sketch I did. The picture is cut off a little bit, because I couldn't fit it into the scanner right.

    I tried to convince you

    Tried to make you see

I even tried to let you into my life

    Although you wouldn't accept it

I tried to give up my false hopes

Tried to believe in all your false truths

    I tried to give in

    I tried to deny it

    I tried to love you

    I tried to care

No matter my strengths it wouldn't work

You wouldn't accept me into your world

I wanted to fit in with you

    Wanted you to see

WAnted you to forgive or give in

So all my trying was for nothing

As were you in my life

    another one of my poems

This is one that I did a couple of years ago. I remember that I was really proud of it at the time, because I thought that it actually looked like the picture that I was drawing it from.

i know what its like... i always have trouble scanning my photos.

when i write its usually in a rush of energy. somedays i'll write 10, and then i can go years between them.

a good pictorial is hard to do... so many subjectives... so many compromises....

Brenna, that sketch is *excellent*. I mean it. The only thing I would suggest for it is perhaps to play up that contrast between the light and the shadows - maybe do a bit more shading to give your subject and the overall mood of the piece more intensity.

I noticed there are a lot of new poems being posted here. Good job, everyone! Just want to say, however (even though this is not a forum for critiques ) that, when writing poetry, it's useful to consider different things: rhyme, meter, stanza, and imagery, etc etc. Good poetry often encompasses more than just stream-of-consciousness writing, good poetry avoids cliches and strives to be...y'know, innovative with language...poetic. Syntax and punctuation are also important to most poets, despite what one may deduce from reading e.e.cummings.

    Just a thought.
