The world is lonely and getting cold,
I look for my friend's hand to hold,
I grasp the air, it feels thick,
    People are gone--it's too quick.

Well, here's another poem. I have to admit that it reminds me of sixth grade where we were forced to write about nature and constellations. Good times... Yes, I know it is quite long.

Here, there are no birds cheering the coming night.
There are calico hues upon her face as the night reigns moreso, now.
Wispy clouds dot the evening sky.
The last remnants of the day slowly creeping into the west.
She smiles down upon us with her children skipping playfully on the backdrop of night.
They smile, too, each tiny dot.
Prancing and singing the song so often sought -
To calm us with the depth and precision of tone.
Tranquility is the way of her court.
Breezes brush past the leaves, caressing them to sleep.
Dreams are cast, as they gaily waltz, upon me.
Lights dim out unhurriedly as people realize their slumber.

    Hushed...

There are no longer sounds of music and secret whispers.
There are no sounds except that of the quiet sighs of each contented soul as they fantasize in the darkness.

    Silence...

The queen closes her eyes now.
One by one, the once happy children of the night retreat back into the sky.
They cover themselves with a blanket of warmth brought by the king as he enters the day.
Birds calmly start to chatter on about the night, getting more crazed as the light dawns upon them once more.
The first sounds of morning are apparent.
God's beasts start to roam the Earth in search of food and companionship.
He, the king, sets off for another day of amusement.
Children stir and make their ways to leisure or school.
Adults off to carry the burdens of responsibility for another day.
The clouds are a puffy white.
    Birds are in full flight.
    Everything is as it was...
    Today,
    and every coming night.

    SCULLY:
    Leave it there.
