My thinking is to replace them before they c*** out altogether. Both are 17 years old.

Not that you asked my advice, but if you can only replace one, I'd go with the fridge... you can wash dishes by hand.

Perplexed as to which coffeemaker I should buy as mine seems to be crapping out but knowing if I mention it to SO he will take it apart, fix it, and then I will not get another coffeemaker for at least 10 more years.

Quite pleased with my Keurig, ECM - nice that there is no clean-up/mess and you can have lots of different varieties of coffee at any time!

Really have no advice as the last coffee maker I owned was a Mr. Coffee 20+ years ago.

Truly frustrated as the four models of fridges that Iliked the best don't fit in the space I have. :onho

Understanding here your space problem, CMD..we had the same problem when we just recently bought a new fridge.
