Would you believe that I did, in fact, take my dog to the city wide volunteer awards luncheon and that we were the only ones greeted by hundreds of people going "awwwww" when we stood to be recognized? (Personally, I thought the woman who had fostered over a 130 children in her lifetime ought to have gotten some kind of OMG! reaction)
