    Re: 3-minute poetry

    I wonder whom
    Lopevian references in her post.
    Someone who's lurking?
    Someone who's posting?
Someone who moves like a ghost?

    Oh - the musician!
    (I must admit I don't know him.)

    He'd better watch out.
If I see him I'll shout,
    And Lopevian will move in
    for a rout.

    Re: 3-minute poetry

oh gosh, I feel duty bound to report
that poem referenced no one from Fort
suffering fools would never be a chore
I'd simply put any offender on "ignore"

the posters are warm and friendly here
if they are not, from them I steer clear
in my rush, my eyes fell upon the modem
thought to myself, "that rhymes with scrotum"

it was late, I was sleepy, what can I say?
things sure look different in the light of day
I should have written about Niagra Falls
instead of kicking a made-up dude in the balls
    "...Mr. Bluebird on my shoulder..."

    Niagara Falls ...
    Now there's a topic
that will keep us from being
    too myopic!
    The water
    The height
    The bubbles
    The spray ...
    A beautiful sight
    By night and day.

    Re: 3-minute poetry

I visited Niagra Falls a long time ago
how furious (and loud) the water did the flow
but it wasn't the temp that made us chilly
we temporarily lost sight of dear brother Billy
he was fine, though he did get in trouble
our dad said, "get back here on the double!"
Billy also got a talking to from our mother
We miss our dearly departed son & brother...
    "...Mr. Bluebird on my shoulder..."

    I'm sorry, Lopevian,
    for your loss of Billy.
May I ask, was he your brother?
It's a heartache when loved ones
    pass away.
    They cannot be replaced
    by another.

thank you, rgw, you are kindhearted
yes, in 1988, brother Billy departed
it is the hardest thing we ever do
saying goodbye to a loved one whose life is through
life is for the living, and onward we go
thankful for each day we're not six feet below

    That's a good attitude, Lopevian.
    It's something I haven't been through.
I don't look forward to that day
when my loved one passes away.

What is a "lopevian," by the way?
What inspired you to choose that name?
If you don't want to answer, just say,
    "rgw, quit being lame!"

    I don't mind at all...this particular task
warning...you may be sorry you asked
there was a Vanuatu survivor named Chad
I had a crush on him something awful bad
he was part of a tribe called Lopevi
I really liked that "lopevian", you see
    "...Mr. Bluebird on my shoulder..."

I never in a million years
    would have made that connection!
    True Survivor fans like you
    deserve a mention.
    I might call Jeff Probst
    and say,"There's a special gal
    who's looking for Chad
    to be her pal!"

    RGW and lopevian!

Kudos to two poets on FORT, (y'all know who you are)
    Both an intelligent sort.
    In the answers before me,
    I'm sure you will agree,
They're whizzes, I'm glad to report.
