John, I know exactly which poem you emulated. It is one of my favorite poems...

D*mn that teacher of yours for discouraging you. Forgive me; your poem was delicious--so sweet and so cold.
This is just to say
I have eaten
that were in
you were probably
they were delicious
and so cold

blindart, good stuff. Love the last stanza. :up
yep, what shayla said. To both John and blindart.
everyone is so creative!
here's a silly poem a ripped off for people at work who were constantly bitching about . . . well, self-explanatory. . . . :lol
umm, sorry if it's difficult to read. i have no idea how else to post it.
Here's my first attempt at a poem
Days in the prison of knowledge are like years
That brings every tiny saplings to their darkest fears
Thrice in a year, every four months
They would have to undergo a serious undertaking
That puts all their brains to the thinking
Full time, and prevent the restless soul for wandering
For it is something that everyone dreads
Where even the angels dare not tread
During this period of darkness,
Every gay soul is derived of happiness
As the classroom exudes an air of competitiveness
Amongst each other, devoid of a good man's soul
And cannibalize each other for the best, like a hungry ghoul
Every sapling endeavours to weather
The horrendous storm that befalls them
Should they fail to do so
An eternal ray of shame will fall upon them
As they are discriminated amongst the best
Laughed and joked at by the rest
And chastised by their creators
Who gave them life in this world
It's a nightmare for every soul
To face this terrible predicament
But the young heart must endure
the pain and the torture
For in the storm lies a great treasure
That every knowledge seeker needs
For now and forever
To overcome the hardships of life
Done!! Honestly speaking I took more than 3 minutes!!
This is my first poem ever done! Hope every one likes it.
Should we start a forum on prose and short stories, where everyone could post their own creation?
Wow, these are all so creative and deep. Mine is not.:)
Here I sit, addicted to the FORT
So many things in my house need done
Dishes to do and laundry to sort
But computer time seems to be number one.
My hubby will say, "What'd you do tonight?"
I'll try to think of something to say
I hope this doesn't end up in a fight
But the housework can wait til another day.
General discussion, The Amazing Race
Sooo many things to read
I wish I could just get away from this place
But my daily dose of the FORT, I NEED!
How's that for cheesy?:laugh We really need a cheese emoticon. Don't you agree?
Actually, I think it's pretty cool, glennajo! :up I like rhyming poetry, and yours has kind of a sinister message underlying its upbeat story.
thanks blindart. hope i didn't offend any diehard mac fans. :lol
glennajo . . sounds like you were writing about me! :lol
Thanks Paulie! I've always been a rhymer. Never could write non-rhyming poems.
Splatty, you're right! I think everyone can relate to the spending too much time here thing!:laugh
