Jackals have never come into in my neighborhood.
Knowing we have coyote here, makes me nervous for smaller animals.
Laughing hyenas give me the creeps.
Maybe that's the critter I hear in the woods that sounds like someone screaming. :omg
Nighttime sounds can make it hard to fall to sleep.
Once in a while we hear hoot owls here.
Plastic owls, like the one in my back yard, could give critters a fright.
Quite recently, I saw a nature show that said foxes and ferrets can make sounds that mimic human screams.
Rarely do I see wild animals in my neighborhood, though in the past year I did spy raccoons, a snake, and a great blue heron.
