Wow...well, since they are my friend, I would not abandon them..I would just hope that they would tell me someday on their own..what they had done.

With cellphone: Call 911 immediately all the while, sitting out front in my truck...giving play by play events of what's happening.
No cellphone: Run immediately to the neighbor's house, bang on door...have them call 911 and explain in full details what's happening.
