Hmm. I've never used a recipe, I've just kinda eyeballed it. My dad showed my how to make it when I was a kid. I'll try to think out a recipe here.
Everything needs to be done gently and slow to keep the nog fluffy.
For about eight servings (Dad always said one egg for every two servings if you need to make more)
1/2 cup sugar (divided in half)
1 1/2 cups whole milk (doesnt seem to tast right w/skim)
2 cups liquor (I use bourbon whiskey and white rum)
1 cup heavy whipping cream (divided in half)
Separate eggs into yolks and whites in separate bowls
Beat egg-yokes, add 1/2 of Sugar, set aside.
Beat egg-whites until stiff, then mix in other 1/2 of sugar.
Mix egg mixtures together slowly.
Stir in white rum slowly
Stir in milk
Stir in whiskey slowly
Stir in 1/2 of cream slowly
Whip rest (1/2) of cream, fold in carefully.
Add nutmeg to taste (I don't like nutmeg, so I only put it in if other people want it)
