Kudos to Colby! A truly worthy opponent.

Yes, as the Lifeboat drifted, bits of wreckage from the Ocean Liner floated past - one of the pieces of debris was a newspaper and the camera panned in and a photo of Hitchcock was prominent on the front page as the newspaper floated by.

Sorry, I hadn't checked back at this thread for a while and I'm actually surprised I remembered that.

Which would-be star of "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" died one week before the main shooting started?

Ernie Kovacs died in a car accident a few days before shooting. Sid Caesar played the dentist instead.

What movie was tentitively titled 1984 and 1/2, but a release of Orwell's 1984 came out the same year so they went with a different title.

Sorry i'm so tardy in bringing about another hint.

This movie was originally created at over 140 minutes and released by Fox International. After that release Universal said it must be shorter for domestic release. Two shorter versions of the film were created, one by the studio (which added a "Happy" ending), and one by the creator. After a long battle the creators version was released.
