It's really not that bad, I had it once. Definitely not slow cooked, juicy butterball turkey, though

We baked up a Costco vegetarian lasagna for my step-son last year, and aside from the turkey, everthing else was vegetarian, no chicken broth, sausage, etc. It was fun modifying all the recipes. Thank goodness he and his girlfriend aren't vegan!

He had gone to his cousin's for a holiday dinner, and knowing that he was vegetarian, they made 3 different stuffing/dressings. However, when he asked about it, they all included chicken broth  . So he was pretty hungry when that one was over.

Good thing we don't have any docs around: they'd be absolutely horrified at that thought!

My dad had been wanting to try doing it, since trying it somewhere, so I bought him the setup for Christmas last year, along with a smoker. He smoked a duck and fried the turkey, and it really was good. Not pretty, but it was good.

On the other hand a guy we used to party with managed to oil his street when he tipped the whole thing over after (once again) having too much to drink. Luckily for all involved, the fire was out!
